About Us
For the past nine years Sports Tuition has been a company combining education and exhilaration. Sports Tuition offers a variety of activities for primary & secondary school children and their parents. Sports Tuition also offers a variety of corporate and club activities. Activities include ½ day and full day fishing charters, fishing weekends, fishing competitions, corporate team building events, school camps, school holiday camps and sports coaching.
All Sports Tuition staff members hold a current Child Suitability Card (Blue Card), current first aid and relevant qualifications for the activities.
Sports Tuition is a member of the Queensland Outdoor Recreation Federation and the Outdoor Educators' Association of Queensland.
The Director of Sports Tuition is Steve Wilkes. Steve is a qualified Physical Education teacher with 15 years classroom experience teaching Grades 4-7. Steve coordinates every program and regularly conducts the fishing component of the camps. Steve writes a monthly article in Bush n Beach Fishing Magazine and a weekly article in the Gold Coast Bulletin. Steve presented at the Southport Boat Show in 2009, Brisbane International Boat Show in 2008 and the Gold Coast International Boat Shows in 2007. Steve regularly has his fishing footage aired on Channel 9 with Paul Burt and he reqularly provides reports to Gold Coast 91.7 FM radio.
Steve is a keen sports person and holds coaching accreditations in; Level 2 Cricket, Level 1 Rugby League, Level 1 Rugby Union, Level 1 Basketball, Level 1 Hockey. Steve is a former Queensland U/17 Cricket Representative & A Grade Cricket player and is he also a former Queensland U/21 Rugby League Representative & A Grade Rugby League player.
